Turquoise was used in many ancient civilizations (such as Egypt, Persia and Native American cultures) as a talisman against negative influences, disaster and disease. It is often associated with the immune system, the respiratory system and anti-inflammatory, promotes regeneration after stress or illness.
Turquoise helps to calm the mind and relieve anxiety, depression and mood swings. Works on the throat chakra (vishuddha), and is therefore said to promote communication, honesty and self-expression. It also helps people to open up to others without losing themselves.
