Brazilian Steatite Evolian 2026 #09

This Evolian number 9 features a yellow-etched Aztec symbol and depicts a stylized image of a bird symbol, which is associated with cultures like the Aztecs or Mayans. Birds in these art styles can represent freedom, transformation, or spiritual messengers.

I've been carving these specific Evolians since 2012. Formerly called Ivolians (once affectionately named Ivo by a guardian after me), they were inspired by the  ancient shamanistic Mongolian skulls.
In 2026, new Evolians will be released regularly, all carved from various types of steatite (soapstone). I want to explore the different shapes and sizes within this Evolian theme. Each Evolian will be individually (sequentially) numbered.
