The Ancient Guardian of Preseli – 34.5 kg Unspotted Preseli Bluestone Dragon

Born from an immense piece of unspotted Preseli Bluestone, this monumental Dragon carries the untamed presence of an ancient guardian awakened from the mountains of West Wales.

Its powerful head rises above a long armoured body, protected by a succession of great ridges and pointed scales. Deeply carved lines flow around the eyes and beneath the jaw like ancient currents of energy, while the intense gaze gives the Dragon an alert and almost living presence. It appears neither aggressive nor subdued, it watches, remembers and guards.

Part of the original rough surface has deliberately remained visible upon its head. This untouched area forms a powerful connection between the finished Dragon and the ancient stone from which it emerged. It is as though the creature is still partly held within the Preseli landscape, suspended between raw Earth and awakened form.

Preseli Bluestone originates from the Preseli Hills of West Wales, the legendary source area of the bluestones carried over an extraordinary distance to Stonehenge thousands of years ago. This unspotted variety is a dense and exceptionally strong dolerite, an ancient volcanic rock formed when molten material cooled and crystallised beneath the Earth’s surface. Unlike the more familiar spotted dolerite, it has a darker and more restrained appearance, revealing subtle shades of grey, blue and green within the stone.

Its energy is intensely grounding while opening the connection with intuition, ancestral memory and the ancient consciousness of the land. Preseli Bluestone strengthens spiritual awareness, supports inner transformation and creates a bridge between the physical and unseen worlds.

The Dragon adds its own force of courage, protection, wisdom and sovereignty. Together, stone and creature become a formidable guardian, rooted in the Earth, yet watching beyond the boundaries of ordinary perception.
