The silhouette is strongly reminiscent of a shell or snail shell, narrowing upward in soft, rounded segments. This layering gives the whole a rhythmic character, as if the form were constructed step by step rather than consisting of a single, solid volume.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the same time, the skull has a monolithic and sculptural quality. The flowing lines and lack of sharp angles create an organic appearance, while the vertical orientation almost makes it an obelisk or totem. The combination of a skull motif with a spiral shape creates an alienating yet symbolic effect: it evokes associations with evolution (Evolian!!), cyclical movement, and ascending consciousness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou could call this shape a spiral skull, a conical totem, or even a shell-like skull. In more poetic terms, one could speak of an “ascending skull shape,” in which the earthly and ephemeral nature of the Evolian merges with a form that represents growth, movement, and transformation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI've been carving these specific Evolians since 2012. Formerly called Ivolians (once affectionately named Ivo by a guardian after me), they were inspired by the  ancient shamanistic Mongolian skulls.\u003cbr\u003eIn 2026, new Evolians will be released regularly, all carved from various types of steatite (soapstone). I want to explore the different shapes and sizes within this Evolian theme.
